I'm currently upgrading my computer that is running:

Intel HD Graphics 4400
The stock 300W PSU
Dell 088DT1 Motherboard

I've read that some manufactures "lock" the computer down by using a custom motherboard that prevents you from upgrading it. I'm trying to upgrade this PC by installing:

MSI Radeon RX 470 DirectX 12 Radeon RX 470 ARMOR 4G OC 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

CORSAIR CX Series CX600 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply

Are these parts compatible? I know the motherboard is sort of old, but I don't really want to have to spend the extra cash to replace it. There's also a sale that ends in 12 hours on the PSU I'm looking at, so a quick reply would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

That isn't the best Psu around, but wattage wise you will be fine. Imagine, that the part you are adding draws 120w of power, and you are adding a net 300w capability to your entire system. You are fine. As long as that motherboard has a pci-e slot, you'll have to change some bios settings so that it stops using the onboard video and uses the add-in card as well as install it in windows.

The graphics card itself pull about 120 watts of power so odds are that psu will be able to handle it, but not knowing the rest of your system i cant be sure. This is a great website to use to check out what fits and what doesnt, it will usually give you a warning if things are incompatible. But odds are a 500W will be a decent amount to deal with that GPU and your system

Thanks, but I've already checked PC Partpicker and they don't even have this Dell MB as a part. Since this wasn't a custom build to begin with, my main concern is regarding the compatibility of this motherboard and whether or not it is even capable of upgrades. How do you think I could find this out?

Could you possibly get a picture of the motherboard? Pretty much all PSU's will run with any motherboard no matter what but the GPU would be a worry depending on the size of the motherboard. Do you know what kind of PCI slots it has and if its ATX or mid ATX?
