Intel Core I3 4170 or Amd FX 6100 ?

Solution

Actually, AMD's marketing on core count is what makes them popular. However, it's not as efficient as Intel's. Just because it has more cores, doesn't mean it wil handle them efficiently. Take a look at this: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i3-4170-vs-AMD-FX-6100/m28214vs1984 - The i3 beats it in EVERY test, despite only have 2 cores. If we were to get an i5-4430 (only 4 cores), Intel...
You want the i3 for sure. But what is your budget. It may hold you back, and getting an i5 will benefit you in the long run.

The reason the i3 is better than the 6100, is because it has better performance to core ratio. Meaning it performs better at the cores level, than AMD does.

Both have pro and cons in my opinion. i3 4170 only has 2 cores, FX 6100 has 6. So FX 6100 would be better for gaming overall, and would be able to handle more intense applications.

Personally I would never go AMD based again as my last two systems have been AMD based and have died premature, but based on these CPUs above, AMD wins.

It may have 6 cores but they are horribly slow and very poor for gaming. The FX 6100 is a Bulldozer cpu and are notoriously poor gaming cpus.

Im buying Premade Pc From One of shops and I Have Choice Of AMD FX 6100 with 8 Ddr3 Ram or Intel Core i3 4170 with 4 Ddr3 Ram so i dont know which one to chose that can be later upgraded for even better performance.

The point is, Intel's chips are better at performing per core than AMD is.
