Should I return my EVGA 1060 Gaming 6gb Non SC, due to possible overheating?

I ordered an EVGA 1060 Gaming 6gb non sc because the reviews were so good. I started doing more research and realized that the cooler on it really sucks. I just got it today and it seems fine so far. Idle temps are between 27-30C and when loaded it's at about 55-60 but I've only played BL2 so far.

TL;DR: Should I get a refund for this card so I don't have to worry about any troubles down the line? And just buy a card with better cooling?

Are you serious? 60C at load is not a problem at all. Idle temperatures couldn't be better. My MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X 3GB is at 55C Idle (As the fans don't spin till 60C) and then 65C at maximum load.

I don't know about the cooler personally, but at those temperatures it doesn't 'suck'.

Well it varies by game I was just playing H1z1 and temps were at 80-82C. I'm just in a tough spot because people are saying that this card varient in particular, overheats. And I'm just not sure if I should send it back and get another one. Have you heard about it?

If you can just return it of replace it with another card, and you want a fairly cool and silent card, then yeah do it. SC version has also 1 fan but bigger heatsink so you should already see a slight reduction of temps and dB levels with that card. Or get a dual-fan card from brands like EVGA Asus MSI or Gigabyte if it fits in your case, as those will run even cooler and quieter.

Wow ok, that cooler really is bad. I assumed you meant 60C as a maximum.

Under the heaviest stress tests my MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X 3gb never exceeds 65C.

80C is a big nono, definitely return it and get a GPU with dual fans preferably.

Buy this card https://www.scan.co.uk/products/nda-18-8-msi-geforce-gtx-1060-3gt-oc-3gb-gddr5-vr-ready-graphics-card-1152-core-1544mhz-gpu-1759mhz-

Very similar to mine except colours and LED's. A few changes but nothing related to performance, this card costs arround the cost of the one youo currently have, and from my experience, it will have MUCH better cooling.
