Recently I've upgraded my GPU to a GTX1080 from a GTX970 in order to play in 4K. While playing some of the more resource intensive games (Ark: Survival Evolved, Gears of War 4, and even The Forest), I started to suffer crashes where my computer would freeze with the audio stuck repeating whatever the last sound was when it crashed and I couldn't do anything but hard reset it. If I waited a little while (roughly 30 seconds), my computer seemed to restart itself.
At first I thought it might be my HDD either dying (as there were reviews on the product warning of potential death after a year and it has been two years since I got it) or overheating from having to handle a 4K game at max settings, but I replaced the HDD with a 1TB SSD, but the problem continued. I checked to make sure my NVIDIA driver was up to date, and it was. I thought it might be an issue with it overheating as the problem appeared to occur after a while of gaming (like 30 minutes to 2 hours) and would occur more often if I got back into the game after a crash, but I downloaded HWMonitor and the temperatures weren't very high (will list them at the bottom of the post). So after searching for a while for a solution, I'm suspecting it may be a PSU issue, but I'm not sure and still think a 750W PSU should be sufficient.
Any help with the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I have not OC anything as it has all been sufficient for my needs without being OC. Also, I run the OS on the Kingston SSD and just installed the Samsung 1TB SSD and put all of my games on there. I run all of my games on the 4K monitor and use the 1080 for general use like surfing the web or TS.

Thanks for the reply. I ran a test with Heaven and had 37.7 FPS on ultra quality and extreme tessellation. it didn't get over 67C during the test either. I've also run FurMark for about 10 minutes without issue, but it pushed my GPU up to around 72C.
Any other suggestions for tests?
