Hi there!

I'm thinking of upgrading my current pc, but cant really decide which solution is best for me.

Current build:
gtx 970 strix
i5 4430
asus - h87 plus
16gb ram

I'm mainly playing csgo/h1z1, and recently I have had fps drops which makes the game "csgo" run alot worse than normally. (In terms of fps).. Used to have 250-300 fps constantly, and now It sometimes goes to 100-140.
I need cs to run 100% smooth, and therefore I'm thinking of a CPU upgrade.

Solution 1:
So with my socket 1150 motherboard, I could upgrade to i7 4790k, which will give me a more consistent fps.

Solution 2:
I could upgrade motherboard + ram + i7 6700k.

Soluition 3:
I could wait for kaby lake? i7 7700k?

Solution 4:
Wait for cannonlake?

Hope you guys can help me with which will be the most worth it :)

Solution
I'd either do a 4790K, as that would be the cheapest upgrade, preferably a used on to save more. Or wait for Cannonlake. For full CPU replacements you want to wait 3 or 4 (i say 4) generations at this point for the cumulative increase in power to equal out to something noticeable and worth it. Gone are the days of double the power from jumping up a single generation.

I guess Zen is almost upon us as well so might as well wait for the reviews as well to see if they offer anything useful as well.

edit: also to my knowledge csgo does not use hyperthreading, and i believe is only a two core program. So going i7 won't net you anything unless you have a bunch of other programs running at the same time as well.
