I know my monitor is using a DVI connection because it has 2 screws and it does not use VGA because it isn't blue.
Are there different types of DVI? Because if i get the Zotac 1050, the DVI looks different to the one that the Gigabyte 1050 has.

Edit: What im saying is that there is no hole for the screws? whereas in my io shield theres screws for the dvi cable head?

Solution

From what you've posted both of the pictures have screw holes.
One is a picture of a real card (the gigabyte one) and the other is a 3D render. On the 3D one the homes are just flush to the plate.

its not even about that, there are no places for screws in the Zotac 1050 even though the actual dvi, like they both (Zotac and Gigabyte) use Dvi-D but gigabyte has places for screws but Zotac doesn't.

That's just their design then, I've never bought Zotac so I wouldn't know. My guess is they just don't include that. I always buy EVGA :p

yes there are several types of DVI ports. some are analogue and some are digital.

in fact here is a picture showing all kinds of DVI ports: http://cdn2.expertreviews.co.uk/sites/expertreviews/files/styles/er_main_wide/public/2016/03/dvi.png?itok=iGaiZHk_

While purchasing the card check the spec sheet to know what type of DVI port it has. You can easily know what kind of DVI port your monitor has by just looking at it and comparing it to the picture above. It would be even easier to just look at a picture of the I/O of the card and compare it to the port on your monitor; making sure they're both the same.

hope i helped!
