How do i add my os to a new storage device?

Solution
OK. Totally understood. I just thought that the info you're now seeking was pretty much what you were seeking in this present query and that whatever responses you got pretty much covered this area. But obviously that was not the case.

So let me ask you a few questions first...
1. Your present boot drive is the 1 TB HDD. There's an indication that the drive has been GPT-partitioned and this could have a bearing on my specific response to your present query. If you don't know for certain the partitioning scheme on that 1 TB drive, do this: In Disk Management right-click in the left-hand box of "Disk 1". A submenu will open with a number of options - one of them possibly listing "Convert to MBR Disk". But that option WOULD PROBABLY BE...
You're the same Runguygoer (there can't possibly be TWO Runguygoers, can there?) who recently posted "Do i need to use the installation disk my ssd came with for my pc?" Pretty much the same query, no? Is it because you were somewhat confused with the responses? Or what? Or is this just an inadvertent duplicate?

My last thread was how to actually physically install the ssd onto my pc. This thread is how do I put my os and a few games onto my new ssd

Could you respond to the above?

2. What is the OS you're planning to install? Will it be a fresh-install? Is that the same OS that's installed on your present 1 TB boot drive?

3. Assuming you plan to fresh-install the OS (presumably Win 10) what installation media were you planning to utilize?

4. What's the TOTAL volume of data that presently resides on the 1 TB boot drive?

I have a 1 TB hdd and I recently have installed a Samsung 250 gig evo ssd. I want to put my OS and a few games on it. My OS is windows 10 and yes it is grayed out and doesn't let me convert. I have about 270 on the 1 tb

are your games installed on C: drive or another drive? You can just transfer OS drive to the SSD. If you do not prefer third party software, you can use Windows backup and restore.

Just out of curiosity, what was your final solution?

Were you able to clone the OS + other data contents from your former 1 TB boot HDD over to the 250 GB SSD by moving some of the total data from the HDD to another drive so that the cloned data was able to "fit" onto the SSD? Or perhaps delete some unnecessary data residing on the 1 TB HDD to reduce its total contents?

Or did you just fresh-install the OS on the SSD?
