Hi, I just recently assembled a gaming rig and didn't bother to get a new HDD since I had an old one from my previous PC. It's an old WD Green 2TB I got sometime in 2013. I had the store assemble my gaming rig (without the HDD first) and it was working fine. Last night I found my old HDD and hooked it up and this caused my new rig to slow down considerably, I couldn't even open it through Windows Explorer. The specs of my rig are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 @ 3.2GHz
MoBo: MSI B150M Bazooka
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR4 - 2400
SSD: WD Green 120GB
GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 AMP! 3GB
PSU: Seasonic 520W 80+
Just wanted to know if there was a way I could still use my old 2TB HDD or it'd just slow my new rig down. Plan to buy a WD Blue (7200rpm) 1TB HDD if I can't use my old one.
Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks.
