I have an msi r9 390 that had a default idle temp of 60.
I use a custom fan curve so it idles in the 35-40 range
Now it idles at around 60 with the custom fan curve
MSI afterburner crashes my computer now also
I noticed something was up when I could hear my fans while playing Overwatch it was going over 70 degrees, never happened before

Yes. I just dusted it out with air the other day. The case fans had visible dust but the graphics card didn't seem as dusty

Those are actually normal temps for that card, from what I´ve read (not from experience). Usually doesn´t go above 80C. But yes, that card runs hot under load.. anything below 95c is within designed operating temps, although 70-80c is more typical depending on case airflow & individual card voltage variations.

Is there anything else that it can be? Should I take out the card and dust it that way?

You can try, but you won´t probably see much of an improvement. It´s normal with that card it seems.
