those are my specs^ (My CPU stays around 66C and never above 71C)

I've been crashing (it just freezes and won't do anything until I restart my computer) a lot recently, to the point that I can't play anything.

I used WhoCrashed to try to figure out the problem

On Fri 12/9/2016 6:20:16 PM your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\120916-15375-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x95739C)
Bugcheck code: 0x116 (0xFFFFBC0CB47544A0, 0xFFFFF801F702739C, 0xFFFFFFFFC000009A, 0x4)
Error: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_3f929cc119e3b994\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 376.33
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 376.33
Bug check description: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version ] 376.33 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: NVIDIA Corporation VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

(WhoCrashed ^)

So I check my drivers and they weren't up to date so I updated them and still the same problem
Then I noticed that my driver is now on update 376.33 which is the same one that is being reported for having a problem. This is the only thing that I can think is wrong

My computer is about a year old, but my 1060 is about 4 months old

I changed my PSU from LSP Ultra 750W to EVGA 600W everything is connected, there is no dust.

Honestly I've run out of ideas or solutions to this problem.

I've check multiple forums and asked multiple friends and no solution to the problem

Please help.

Solution

The issue seems to be the graphics card from the crash message, is the drivers you updated to earlier the same version it says its having issue with, the 376.66? I think the latest driver version for geoforce is higher than that so if it...

If your motherboard has onboard graphics i would use it so that you can try to completely uninstall all of the drivers for your graphics card. Sometimes drivers can mess up and forcing them to reinstall fixes the issue. Otherwise maybe contact support from the graphics card company and see if they have any firmware they could use to help.

The issue seems to be the graphics card from the crash message, is the drivers you updated to earlier the same version it says its having issue with, the 376.66? I think the latest driver version for geoforce is higher than that so if it isnt getting the new driver even when installed that could be the issue. If im wrong and that is the latest up to date driver however i would get ahold of geoforce support and see if they know anything. The board itself could just be having issues physical wise
