Hello everybody !

I came here for your good advices, after many years I'm finally about to make my own rig, I already looked for as much infos on the components as possible (compatibility, price/performance etc.) and I came up with this :

Case : Corsair carbide 400c
Mobo : MSI H170 Gaming M3
CPU : i5 6500
RAM : HyperX Fury Black 8Gb 2133 Mhz CL14
PSU : RM750x 80+ Gold
SSD : Kingston SSDNow 120Go
HDD : WD Caviar Blue 1To Bulk
OS : Windows 10 Family
GPU : Msi GTX 1070

I'm still not sure about the case and the dvd-reader but overall, everything should theoretically be working, unless there are known issues about one of the pieces I don't know of, what do you think ?

Thanks a lot !

EDIT : Updated the list based on advices and new finds
EDIT 2 : Chose to go with the C. Carbide 400c case + Corsair RM 750x for eventual futur upgrade

It looks very good. I myself use a similar build, and it definitely runs games easily. One thing is that there's no point getting a Z170 motherboard if you're using a locked processor. Unless you're thinking of getting a K-series processor, like the i7-6700k, in the future, you should get a B150 or H170 board.

Also, in the case you're not going to OC at all, it might be wise to drop the CPU cooler in favour of the stock cooler. Stock cooler temps are around 55C under load with the i5 6500.

external DvD are ok even for installing windows a first time on the rig ? The BIOS will see it and its content so I can set it as a priority for booting ?

Yes I went for the MSI H170 Gaming M3 and indeed I don't really intend to OC anything, if the stock cooler is sufficient then it's perfect thanks ! Now I just need to find a good Case and PSU, everything else is good
