Hi, i plan to get MSI R9 380 4G graphic card, but my friend told me that gtx 1050 ti is better on performance and new design while r9 380 is the old chip rebrand. May i know which card is better on performance? I want to use it to play COD infinite warfare. Is the card memory bus size like 256 bit or gpu engine clock need to take into consideration when choosing graphic card? Btw my psu is cooler master silent pro 620w.

I am not too sure what factors go into that Tech Powerup conclusion, and it doesn't tell you much. The r9 380 wins in most benches here..

Its v close to call, and directly comparing clock speed or memory bandwidth can be misleading, and it'll vary from game to game, but they are v similar and I'd probably plump for the 1050Ti just because it's newer, is better optimized for COD:IW (see the game debate link) and slightly better value for money...

yeah the 1050 ti is faster

R9 285 became the 380, so yeah it's been around a bit. It was the competitor to the GTX 960 at one point. AMD favored games would run better on the 380, Nvidia favored games better on the 1050 Ti. I don't play Infinite Warfare so I couldn't tell you which cards it favors. The 256 vs 128 bit thing isn't a factor in these cards. Which type of card the game is optimized for, that's the big factor.

they use actual fps in various games

those websites you posted do not, they use their own wonky synthetics
pretty much crap when comparing things that have different architectures

pretty laughable indeed, when they use things like Market Share as a point of comparison XD

They do, check the hwbench for example, and also the userbenchmark.com fps in vital benchmarks. They aren't "crap". Your reasoning and observational skills are clearly ;)

But ultimately I agree with your conclusion, albeit for different reasons.

And cards perform considerably better than their nvidia counterparts in infinite warfare

Generally the 380 & 1050ti are going to be fairly closely matched in most games

I'd expect the 380 to beat it fairly consummately in that particular game though looking at general benchmarks between cards.

As said though you're looking at older tech vs new.
180w card vs a sub 100w card , the 1050ti is a great technical achievement , the 380 is still technically a more powerful GPU though no matter how old it is.

I'd base your decision purely on prices & models available to you.
Go for a 4gb model though if at all possible.

UserBenchmark do NOT use ACTUAL game fps, they use their own crap synthetic benchmark "fps" look again silly

hwbench does, and indeed SHOWS what I said, the 1050 ti is better

the other three are indeed crap, especially when they use popularity and such as comparison points XD

war? that requires both sides to be able to inflict damage

none of that to be had here from you

run along

seriously ?? fanboyism is so annoying

I post a test review which isnt particularly biased & has 2 cards of very similar stock, both msi gaming 4gb models (not a 4gb aftermarket 4gb 1050ti vs a ref 2gb 380 as you posted) & you still wont have it at all.

The 380 IS a stronger card still generally ,there really isnt a valid argument otherwise.
Im not dissing the 1050ti at all,its a great achievement, good performance, ultra low power draw, tehnically at the top of its game achievement wise - its just not the be all/end all performance wise though.

Which is why I said base the decison on price & cards available,I wouldnt pay substantially more for either over the other.
If the msi gaming 380 4gb is the same price as a lower tier single fan zotac or similar 1050ti though I probably would still take the 380 as its just a better quality card that performs pretty much the same (or slightly better).
If a 4gb msi or equivalent 1050ti is the same price or lower then Id very likely take the 1050ti just for its efficiency & the fact its newer tech not because its any better performance wise.

Although in all fairness Id save a little more money & just get a 470 ,because theres just no argument at all then,
