Cpu - 4Core Intel Core i5 2300K 2.8 Ghz Socket 1155LGA
GC- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 GDDR5
RAM - 8GB Kingston DDR3
Motherboard- H67MA-USB3-B3 PCi Express
HDD- 1TB SATA 7200rpm
Power supply- 520W Seasonic
OS- Windows 10

yup mate,im aware of that.
A 970 is still viable,there will be points in some games (or in fact a lot of the time in certain new titles) where you will be sitting in the 40s fps wise because thats all that old i5 will manage,offhand Battlefield 1,the witcher 3
& gta v are all titles that will suffer that outcome a lot of the time.

As I said something like a 970 is still viable becasue it will at least maintain those lower fps even at very high or ultra settings,40s are still...

If i could overclock i would but unfortunately i dont have money to spend on new motherboard as my current doesnt support OC

As I said something like a 970 is still viable becasue it will at least maintain those lower fps even at very high or ultra settings,40s are still eminently playable,your games will look nice.

If you were buying a new gen current card I would honestly probably max out at a 1050ti simply becasue its not really worth spending more than that.
If you can get a 970 second hand for similar money theres absolutely no reason not to go for one though.
