@OP, you could upgrade to an FX-8300 or 8320e which are both 95w CPUs, and they would provide a respectable improvement. If this is for gaming, the best upgrade would be to switch to Intel, but if not, then probably getting the AMD FX-9590 will suit your needs. Still, Intel's core to performance ratio is superior to that of AMD. A higher core count does not always means better performance. Just something to think about.
