I have an Asus Rog gl502vs that has a 6700hq. My core 2 temp alone shoots up to alarming levels. Will reapplying thermal compound help? Should I contact Asus to do this without voiding warranty? Thank you
You can see that below it the thermal status says okay on every core but that one, it says "log". Most likely it has created a LOG of its issue and you can find it somewhere and that will help you identify the real problem.
Reapplying thermal paste could help, possibly its an air bubble working as an insulator above the direct heat zone of your 2nd core, it may be a short from a bent pin.

Those temps look fine. The question is, how hot do those temps get under full load? This cpu's max temp appears to be 100c. Your games aren't going to run this cpu full load 100% of the time. If your cpu doesn't come close 100c under full load, for a laptop i'd say that's acceptable.
