Hello guys

I'm trying to upgrade my old HP Pavilion Elite HPE-140sc's gtx 260 to a gtx 670, but im getting the "Please power down and connect the pcie power cables" message.
The BIOS version is 5.11 if that's any help.

Do I need a new PSU or am I just doing something wrong :??:

Specs:
MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)
Intel Core i7 860
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
460W - PSU from HP

Additional information about the PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01993823

Thanks in advance

Whoa. Yes. You need to populate both headers before the card will start. If the HP PSU only has one 6-pin, it may not handle the GTX 670. That model 670 must be a factory OC'ed version that needs more power than the reference GTX 670 did.
But rather than use a splitter, use a Molex to 6-pin for the 2nd header. Which GTX 670 do you have?

Cables are plugged in as tight as possible. Yea it is used, I got it from a friend.

The gtx 260 worked with the 6-pin connection, but the gtx 670 got 2x6-pin ports. Do I need a Y-splitter of some sort?

Pretty sure it's the Gainward GeForce® GTX 670 2GB.
Thanks for the help, I'll try the Molex to 6-pin
