Hi all

Hope this is in the correct place...

As the title says I am trying to find the capabilities of my Asus bw 16d 1ht bluray player in my pc For example can it...

Play normal DVD films
Load pc games
Play bluray disks

I realise I may need specific media players but does windows 10 have these already built in?

Any pointers/advice appreciated as this is my first bluray device

Thanks

Kevin

I use kodi for everything media related mate (free player/streamer software) apart from bluray disks.
For dvd win 10 has a native dvd player installed as standard IF you upgraded from anything apart from win 7 home standard edition -otherwise its $15.I have only just found this out...
Hey there, Kevin.

So far the Blu-Ray drives' manufacturers have included the capabilities for their devices to be able to work with standard CDs and DVDs. However if you can't find that information in your Blu-Ray player's user manual, you could contact the manufacturer's customer support to confirm it.

Hope that helps.

Hi madmatt30

Thanks for the info, it is good to know it will play normal DVDs. I take it then to play a normal bluray film i would need some additional software/player. Could you suggest a good one. I dont mind paying for one if it is good. Is this even possible?

Thanks

Kevin

I honstly dont own many (5 or 6) as I have netflix & amazon prime subs for everything else.

I use leawo solely for that which is completely free (it will also play dvd video disks) - be aware Im not 100% sure it works with all the latest releases but is worth a try before forking out $40 or so for paid software.
Menus are a bit clunky,it does work with windows media remotes though & playback quality itself is excellent.
