Hello, I'm pretty new at these things and I have a problem with my attempted homebuilt pc.
First all the components I used:
CPU: i5-6600k
GPU: Gigabyte 1060 6gb
Mobo: Asus pro gaming z170
CPU Cooler: hyper 212 evo
PSU: Corsair cx750
RAM: corsair vengeance 2x8 gb 3200mhz
1 tb hdd and 128 ssd.
Everything shiny new and fresh delivered.

So I assembled everything and tried to boot my PC for the first time. CPU, chassis and gpu fans are spinning, mobo lights are glowing, but sadly my monitor can't find a signal (I'm using 2 for testing, one connected with a hdmi cable and one connected with a DVI cable, they both work considering that my family's pc runs fine with it) My 2 ram sticks are in the A2 and B2 slots as instructed. So I started looking for the problem, putting the cable in the GPU slots, then removing it and then only using the integrated graphics to no avail. Tried to remove everything except CPU, GPU, PSU and Ram sticks. Still doesn't work. Then I realized that I'm an idiot because I forgot to connect the atx 8 pin for my cpu. (Still surprised that the CPU supposedly booted but maybe it didn't and I am just stupid).
Well then I begin everything again but now with both the 8 and 24 atx pin connected.
Now my setup is pretty much 8 pin and 24 pin connected to mobo, gpu with a 6+2 atx (2 hanging) pin with my two ram sticks.
I try my luck again and it still doesn't work. But one peculiar thing is that after connecting the 8 atx pin to my mobo for the cpu, the GPU fans only spin for a second when I boot the system and then they stop, where as when I forgot to connect the psu 8 atx pin connection to the cpu, the gpu fans would continue spinning until shut off. I tried also only with the 8 and 24 atx pin connected to the mobo, dvi cable/hdmi cable connected to my motherboard, 2 ram sticks and no gpu but the monitor still can't find a signal.

Please I need help, despair is starting to settle in. Could something be wrong with my CPU?

Solution
Hi, Try starting the board outside the case, for ruling out a short. Remove the graphics card and test only with CPU, CPU cooler and single RAM module. Test each RAM slot.
