I am looking to upgrade the current processor I have to more cores. Would you be able to tell me what would fit in this sock or direct me to an app that will detect and determine possible upgrade paths?

The manufacturer of the motherboard will provide a list of supported CPUs. That CPU is an LGA1151 socket so high core count CPUs may be scarce.
