6+2 connector (+2 part) won't go in my GPU's 8-pin

need some help, i have a corsair hx 750w power supply with two 6+2 connectors and one 8-pin above the cpu. i have a MSI gaming x 1070 GPU. problem is that the 6+2 connector doesn't go fully in, it's only the 6 pin that fits but, the 2-pin doesn't. what should i do?

The fit on those can be a little touchy. You need to pair the 2 pins with the 6 before plugging them both in. Make sure you don't have the 2 backwards or on the wrong side.

ive had this a lot with PSU's the +2 bit had the shaved of corner but the pcie 8 pin female socket on the g-card is expecting a square pin.. aslong as the cables are black i just ram them in. the extra 2 are just grounds.
