Hi all,

I've had a problem for a while that in the winter my fans make extremley loud whirlling noises, at first I thought it was my drives but I removed them all and booted it and the noise was still there.

Here's a youtube clip of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO_tJYoKaG4

The second issue is that when my fans are at max speed due to higher temps it makes a sort of loud pulsing sound like a washing machine.

Here's another Youtube clip again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kw9umqF8Vk

^This noise actually comes on the loudest after I've exited a game and my components are cooling down. I usually just reboot to get rid of the noise.

I'm planning on giving it a thorough clean out since they're a little dusty but I wasn't sure if this would fix the issue. Anyone know what the problem is or if I will need new fans?

Thanks,
llama

Thanks for your advice but it was actually an issue with the left wall of the case, I assume since it's metal and in the middle of the winter its expanding and contracting with a lot with the sudden heat changes.

You can also purchase https://www.amazon.com/Antec-TrueQuiet-120-120mm-Cooling/dp/B004AGXHE6 quieter fans to reduce the decibel level of your PC.

Another option is replacing your CPU cooler. stock cooler are usually much noisier than aftermarket coolers. My 212 Evo is MUCH quieter than Intel's stock cooler(socket 1150).

4 strips of electrical tape can be used on side panels to eliminate any sort of rattles or hums from low quality designs. An exacto knife opens the way for the eyelets and fastener holes. Electrical tape comes in many colors.

1) The fans in my case are already quiet fans, like I said I found out it's not a fan issue it's my case

2) Not sure if you watched the video in my original post but you can see above my GPU LED is my CPU Cooler (Clearly not stock) It's a NZXT Kraken X61 and very quiet.

3) The case isn't low quality at all it's a NZXT H440 Razer edition, hence the metal from the usual h440 plastic design, I'm just going to wait for warmer weather to see if that makes the noise go away and if not I'll try another option.
