Core2 Quad Vs Xeon

Im thinking of upgrading my kit, i wanna buy a gtx 750ti and i wanted to buy a xeon lga771 or a core2 quad (cuz i dont have enough money for an i7 or i5), so please help me out and tell me any suggestions :)
My current specs : Core2 duo e6600/Hd 5450/G41 Lga 775/ 500W Psu

Q9450 is pretty good, Q6600 isn't quite as good but it's cheaper and more overclockable. Both are available for pretty cheap on eBay, I wouldn't get a Xeon as you don't need any of the extra features.

Soooo, I didn't find q9450 locally, but I found the q6600,700 and q9400 and q8400, q9550 which one should i go with ??note that the q9550 is twice the price of q6600
