IP Configuration with Modem + Router

Hi,

I was attempting to connect to my modem configuration page the other day so I contacted XFinity to confirm my log in credentials. I can get to the modem log in page (where it asks for username/pw); however, the information I input is incorrect or does not help me move to the configuration page. The lady I was talking to told me the reason was because I also had an AT@T router connected to the modem. That did not make sense to me as I am directly connected to the Comcast modem.

I can connect to the router's configuration settings without a problem when connected to the router's wifi, but how can I connect to the modem config settings?

If the username and password doesn't allow access, then the problem is an incorrect username and/or password.

It's possible that your ISP is restricting access or another user has changed the default password.

If you post the model number of your modem, someone here may be able to help you access the settings (if possible).

The model number is ARRIS TG862G. I was told password and user name I have been using by my internet provider. So unless their database is wrong the issue is not the user/pw.
