In game ping higher than usual

So this is my first im playing a game on my new pc. On my old pc i would get 9 ping and on this new one i get 40 and above. Mostly average 100. Could it be possible i didn't install all drivers or is my motherboard just crap

If your mobo has an Ethernet card with "proprietary" technology that is supposedly able to boost your speed, try disabling all those settings, they may not get along with your router or modem.
