Random BSoD on a new PC build

Hello I've just built my gaming/productivity computer and installed Windows 8.1 on it. Zit worked great for the first 5 days but it would occasionally freeze while playing games (only game I've played so far is a game called Black Desert Online) the freezes would lock up the entire computer and eventually lead to a BSoD.

Thinking that it was hardware I've gone through and tested each of my computer's components:

I7 6700k
J.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 16gb
Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1
Gigabyte Gaming 7
WD 1tb HDD
Samsung 850evo 250gb
EVGA 550 Gold certified PSU
BeQuite Dark Rock CPU cooler

As an attempt to fix these issues I've done a fresh install of Windows 7 professional 64bit. But after once again installing some needed drivers from the included CDs and updating Norton and re-downloading Black Dessert Online and playing for 4-5hrs to break it in the computer would have a variety of BSoD(s) durring shutdown again.

If anyone could provide any guidance it would be much appreciated I'm not sure what I should do.

  1. Do you actually get BSOD?

Can you go into your UEFI and check out your RAM settings? Enable XMP 2.0 and it should automatically correct your timings and frequency.
XMP usually isn't on unless you turn it on, so it is important to do.
  2. Hello and thanks for the quick response, I've tried to enable XMP within the Bios but upon doing so I get a boot failure. Do you know any other options?
