Okay, I know that I will need to reinstall windows with a new disk (already acquired). Since I am still waiting on parts to come in I realized I do not know how to reuse a harddrive for a new build. My question is: How to I use the Hard Drive I am currently using on my new build? Do I just plug it in like it was new and boot from dvd? If so, does this automatically overwrite the hdd? I have already backed up files I wish to keep.

Boot from your install DVD
During the install, select Custom
You will be presented with a list of current partitions
Delete ALL of them
Proceed.
As long as you have nothing to save.....

I believe the NEW install option will obliterate everything and start the HD anew.

If you want to be sure, can always, during the installation process, manually remove ALL partitions, then select the NEW option.
