Looking at buying a Netgear Nighthawk, however I'm in the predicament whether I get a Router/Modem or just a Router, reason being is that there is multiple Xbox Ones on the house and the current modem does not like it, now I'm just wondering if I buy a Router that is connected to the Modem through Ethernet even if the Routers UPnP is good will it still get overwritten by the modem?

Solution
I very much doubt it's a "bad" UPnP implementation, it's a standard. If you use the modem bridged to any router the router will handle UPnP. Just make sure the current box is operating just as a modem.

Was not aware UPnP was a router option, the modem is definitely a modem/router. I did read about bridging it, essentially turning of the router options, unfortunately the modem/router has bad UPnP implementation which fails to support two Xbox ones on the same network.

I plan to see if the modem/router being used only as a modem and then connecting to a router that I have will do the job, however now that you've told me this maybe a Nighthawk Router will do the job rather than paying more for the Nighthawk X4S
