So my PC is restarting without any warning. It occurs everytime I play a game but sometimes, it can restart even when idle. I did reformat my PC twice and still, the restart keeps happening. I'm having a hunch it is a PSU problem. But some says it can be a RAM problem (I have Team Elite 8GB 1600mhz). I also saw a thread once that it can be that the reset button's wire is shortening? Not sure.... If it is a PSU problem, I have 2 choice; FSP hyper 500w and Seasonic S12II 520w... Need help immediately. I have this problem for a few months now... I have an i3-4170 and a Palit GTX 950 2GB dual fan. Current psu is Vs450 and motherboard is MSI H81M-P33...

Solution
Straight to the Kill then.

Yes the cause Eyan32 is the 450W Psu you have, its more likely if it is a no branded Psu. not a very well known one by brand name for quality.

That the 450W quoted the unit can output is in fact lower than 450w all together.

When Peak is stated on a power supply in wattage it can often only mean that the maximum wattage quoted can be sustained for a period of set time such as 60 seconds when in need for brief power support.

Always go for the highest wattage your Pockets can provide for a new Psu making sure it is of a good brand name.
If you can extend the amount of wattage the new PSU can give out, then again buy one with more quoted wattage.
It comes in handy if you ever want to add extra storage...

Do you get a Blue screen when your PC restarts? If so it might BSOD, remove the PSU from the PC & do a 'Load Test' by shortening Green & Black wires. See if its continuously running & also try removing the GPU it may take some load to cause stress on your PSU.

And is an investment for future upgrading.

No, I don't experience any blue screen though. Just a restart... Now I'm really convinced it's a PSU problem. So, what do you recommend me mate? Are 500w PSU enough for my GTX 950 and i3-4170? If so, which one should i go? The Seasonic 520w or FSP 500w? Oh, and my previous psu is Corsair VS450. Not really a "not-good" brand right?

You could go for 800W that should be okay.
To calculate the Watts for your PC check here you will get an idea. Having a PSU above your requirement is always a good habit.

I'm afraid I can't go with an 800w as it's too expensive. And that would be so overkill in my build... How about 620w though?.... My friend told me that 500w is already more than enough in my build... But I'm still open for suggestions...

It depends on you, if you are planning to upgrade the PC in the future so you don't have to upgrade the PSU. Before buying a new one, test your PC with a good working PSU.
