I have an issue that I'm not sure I can fix as it may be limited by the hardware. My main router is upstairs and i have a ethernet cable running downstairs originally to plug in my computer. I found and old router (dir-816l) and decided to use it to boost wifi downstairs as it would disconnect sometimes.
My original connection is 120mbps which actually clocks at 133mbps on speedtest.net but when I use the second router it caps at 95-96. So I'm guessing theres a limit of 100mpbs but the router says it can achieve wireless speed of 750mbps and even on wifi I cap at 95 when on the same device, next to the router upstairs, I hit 130+mpbs. Also to be noted that the upload speed stays the same whether I use the second router or not.
I'm just wondering if there's something I could do to raise the download speed maybe in the settings of the router.
I've followed a guide on how to set this up and it works perfectly aside from that.
