So My desktop is in need of a upgrade I bought my GPU (Gtx 950 2GB) a couple months ago And I will now be upgrading my ram to DDR4 and my mobo/cpu.I do not want to reinstall windows and go through that long process. Can I just replace the mobo and cpu and then hook it up to my current hard drive so nothing is deleted(Games,Files ect) The mobo is not the same brand as the old one.I read somewhere that there would be issues with the old drivers and the new mobo.I heard I could just uninstall them or something. My point is how do I do this without deleting everything on my Hard drive because I want to still use it

Solution
Aside from windows activation problems it may or may not work. No guarantees anyway. Prepare a disk/USB with same windows you have in bootable format as you may have to use it do do system repair from it. If that fails, clean install is only other possibility.

Basically, you have a new computer with an old hard drive. As a boot device, this drive isn't likely to work. All of your drivers will be different, and many of the Windows O/S files will need to be exchanged. The good news is that if you have a full retail version of Windows, you should be able to transfer the license. My recommendation would be to buy a new drive to use as your boot device, and then install your old drive as an add-on.
