Hi,

I'm using an Antlion ModMic 4.0 Unidirectional microphone. When I plugged this in my onboard sound I got static noise + a humming noise.

I fixed the static noise by using a simple usb soundcard : http://i.imgur.com/61qUabJ.png.
This did fix my static noise but there was still a humming noise. I noticed when I touched my pc, the humming noise was gone, so it must be a grounding problem.
I tested this with using a laptop that is not connected to the power and plugged in the modmic with the usb adapter, this worked all the noise was gone. When I plugged in the laptop in the non grounded outlet the humming noise returned.
Unfortunately I have a desktop pc and I have no grounding outlets available in my room or anywhere near me.
Is there a way I can fix this without having to plug in my pc into a grounding outlet? Maybe an usb isolator like this one? https://www.amazon.com/HifimeDIY-Isolator-ADUM4160-signal-isolation/dp/B00F4SCCR2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483095563&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+isolator

P.S. I live in The Netherlands

Many thanks.
