Hi everyone,

Ever since my trusty 8yr old laptop died on me and after thinking for awhile, I've decided to make my own PC for gaming and maybe schooling. I am a complete newbie when it comes to building my own PC, and I hope you guys can give me some input on what parts I should get (maybe even the weird wiring stuff I'll need?? Sorry D: so nooby). I already have a mouse, so I am not too worried about that. My current monitor belongs to my sibling but I know they will want it back at some point. I might have a keyboard, but I don't know for sure. My total budget is $900 (including accessories and parts), and the games I mostly play are MMORPGs, MOBAs, and RPGs. Also, I would like the PC to last for a while so I don't have to worry too much about replacing it. Any suggestions about parts or accessories will be greatly appreciated!

Also, I was looking at websites like CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower to build the computer for you while you choose the parts. Do you guys recommend these websites for that service or should I stick to putting it together myself?

Solution
Defintiely do not recommend those sites. Building it yourself is not hard. There are instructions with the motherboard. Then YouTube has 1000s of videos on how to do it. I recommend the ones from Newegg as they don't edit and take you step by step by step. If you only play those, then you don't need anything extragavenet. One moment, while I get you a list.

This should do you some justice until you can find time to get better parts. However, it will get school work done, and allow you to play those games, and more. Newever games (BF1, Watch Dogs 2, etc) can be played as well, jsut not at high settings. Any questions, jsut ask.

I have noticed that there's not a cooling system in the list you guys gave to me, well besides the $1k build one... I want something that isn't high maintenance and suddenly break down on me.

The list I gave, the i3 comes with a stock cooler, and it's deisgned specially for that CPU.
