Did I purchase the wrong RAM or is something wrong with my computer?

I initially had 4 2gb RAM DDR3 cards in my computer. My motherboard and CPU is a quad channel i believe so i need all 4 cards to be the same. I bought (2) 8gb kits DDR3 1600MHz so in total i now have 4x4gb cards. When i put them all in and turned on my computer and opened task manager it still says that I have 3.9 gb available of ram and am in use of 2.9. Nearly all of my Ram seems to be hardware reserved so i have no idea what to do at this point. It says i have 16gb but i can't use any of it

I was thinking that too, but he's saying he had 4x 2GB sticks, wouldn't he have noticed before in that case that his 8GB kit showed up as 4GB?

OP, rightclick on the Windows button and select System - does it say 32 or 64-bit?
