Microlags (not FPS drop) in almost every game

Hello guys!

Until the last week I had 0 problems with my connection nor my computer.
I made a fresh/clean install after I got my SSD and never ever had a single problem with my internet connection. It was stable, my ping was great.

But sometimes I had microlags - like a "lagswitch" device would do. Restarting the router helped, but not this time.

Could it be a faulty ethernet cable (maybe broken at some place) ?

I'm having constant FPS, it's totally random, the game just "jumps", so I miss 1 or 2 frames.
My specs are the following:

- i5 4690
- GB 970 OC
- 8GB DDR3
- 256GB SSD & 1TB HDD (games are on SSD just like Windows 8.1)
- XFX TS 550W

Thanks for your help! :)

Could be running out of RAM depending on the game, microstutter which won't show up with FPS but will be under frametime. Have you tried using Pingtest.net as you might be getting some packet loss or spikes?

Thanks for the fast reply!

I'll check that site!

In the last few days, when I experienced this, I was playing not so demanding games like Call of Duty Black Ops MP, CS:GO and Battlefield 2 (the lag spikes were significant at the last one, even lost connection to the server several times). My RAM usage barely hits 3.5 gigs according to MSI Afterburner.

Happy New Year!
