I've ordered components to build a PC, however, my cooler is arriving about 4 days later than the rest of the parts. Since I need to make sure that every part is working properly, they have a 7 days return policy and I don't have much time to spend on the computer for the next 1-2 weeks, I want to test if the computer works when it arrives. But just as I mentioned above, the cooler is not coming with the other parts.

Will the 6700k run properly and without any risks of damage due to overheating without a fan? I am only planning to install Windows 10 on it and boot it up, I don't need to do anything more.

Solution
No. Running a CPU without a cooler is risky and could cause permanent damage. If the CPU comes with a stock fan, that would be fine but no fan at all is not ok.
