System specs: MOBO: ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE (3-4 years old)
CPU: i7 2600 (3-4 years old)
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 650W (bought in 2015)
GPU: MSI GTX1050Ti 4GB OC (brand new)

Bad news. I just installed my new GPU the other day, as the previous and very old HD6950 was causing blue screens and having lots of driver crashes. The new GPU I have installed is a MSI GTX1050Ti 4GB OC. It was overclocked to 1542Mhz base and 1655Mhz boost compared to 1342Mhz base and 1455Mhz boost. After the driver crash, these levels then reset to default for some reason.

Issue is unlikely to be caused by GPU temperature as it was pretty much idle at the time, temp was 30 celcius for the GPU and around 50 celcius for the CPU (had lots of tabs open, and some are CPU intensive).

So, two different cards both having driver crash issues. Drivers were installed by first getting rid of all the old ATI drivers using DDU in safe mode, shutting down computer and installing new card. New nvidia drivers were installed straight from Nvidia website (bypassing the useless CD).
Haven't got any blue screens on the new card yet, but I'm now expecting it. I can't really blame the PSU for the issues, as the GTX1050 is designed to draw all the power it needs from the motherboard. Could it be faulty RAM causing the issues, or simple overall software instability? Or am I looking at worse case scenario: the mobo is old and faulty?

Any help in solving this issue would be greatly appreciated. And happy new year to all.
EDIT: It's now screen tearing like hell.

Also, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with 8GB of RAM (3-4 years old)

Screen tearing started happening after launching Terraria... of all things.
Turned on adaptive vsync and changed windows theme from a beautiful picture, to aero theme. No tearing so far.
