My brother recently ordered an MSI gtx 1050ti. I installed it with no issues and the first thing I'm presented with is "no video" from the monitor. I checked the motherboard for issues and the "VGA_LED" light was on. There were no beep codes on account of there being no speaker. The motherboard is an Asus 970 gaming/aura. The GPU is an MSI gtx 1050ti overclock edition. The PSU is a Thermaltake 500 watt. The monitor is a samsung TV model number: LN32C350D1D.

The motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics. Is there a way to uninstall the drivers with the old card in and then install the new card like you stated before?

I could never "uninstall" the GPU by using hardware manager, as that would just cause a black screen. Launch in safe mode, run DDU and choose clean and shutdown. Then replace the GPU with the new one, reboot the system and install the drivers for it.

you can do it with hardware manager in safe mode but I suggest DDU as a better option I agree its far better solution

One more question before I do anything drastic. Is it safe to uninstall the drivers using DDU with the old card still in to display video? I don't have integrated graphics on the system.

Should be absolutely fine, and given you dont have onboard graphics, you may have to do it that way.

No dice, It didn't work. Ran DDU with "clean and shutdown" selected in safe mode, after the PC was shutdown I installed the new card and still no video. I get the same vga_ led lit up on the motherboard. The cpu is fine, the ram is fine, but it hangs on the vga_led light and won't boot.
