Am I possibly bottle necking with a 1050 or is the 750 really better?

Before I explain anything here is the quick specs of my pc

CPU- AMD FX-6300 @4ghz
GPU-EVGA GTX 1050 SSC
Ram- DDR3 16gb (8gb x 2) 1666 Corsair vengeance

So here is my problem, I have seen people use a 750 ti in games like unturned and overwatch get much higher performance than what I have been getting. Is it because I am bottle necking or is it because the 1050 is just not as powerful as a 750 ti. To elaborate further, when I get on unturned I bumped everything up to notice I was hitting anywhere from 25-40 fps @ 1368x768, but when I watched someone with a 750 do the same thing hit 55-70 @ 1080p. Same thing with overwatch, medium 1368x768 and getting about 30fps while they get 60+ with the 750. I'm just a little confused if someone can let me know what is going on. Thanks in advanced.

UPDATE: Alright, so I just found out what my problem was. My "overclock" wasn't really applying. On the msi gaming 970 mobo, there is a switch to boot in slow mode which is enabled by default. I never new about this until now. My computer was booting up with a 1.4 ghz clock rather than the 4. So i just had a super slow processor at the time. Everything runs how it should now. High settings and wouldn't even flinch.

Thank you for the quick response, that is kinda what i was thinking. I know that AMD has had its run for a while with the fx line being about 3 years old. I will maybe see about an upgrade once their new line is out.

Hello... Some games are CPU or Gpu intensive, depends on the programming... also multi-player/intermet connected games are sync'd to other players, and the game play can be held back to the slowest players connection.

Take a look at CPU load (performance monitor) VS your GPU load (Gpu-Z) to see which is working the hardest with this APP... typically I will use replays too... to compare internet VS non internet performance.

Thanks, I will try that. Though I usually will look at afterburner and my task manager to notice that they are both about equal, maybe around 40% usage. Though at times I will see my cpu get around the mid 60's.

Quick test, fire up a game, like Overwatch at medium settings and 1080p, note your framerate. Now drop to the lowest resolution the game and your monitor allow. Play it again and check the framerate. It should be much higher at the lower resolution than at 1080p. If it's not, then your CPU is holding you back.

Alternatively, you can use MSI Afterburner to see onscreen your CPU and GPU usage as you play. If your CPU is up around 90% or higher, while your GPU is never getting near 100%, this also tells you that your CPU is the limiting factor.

Well, that works. So I will do that and see what happens.

UPDATE:
So I have done exactly what you have said but with unturned. The menu had a good balance of both; however. the instant I went on a map, I quickly saw my processor go up from 70 and up while my gpu was only in the mid 30's. Though as unlikely as it is, I did have other things running at the time. Going to benchmark to fin my highest temps atm and try to overclock based around that.
