Recently my computer has had huge fps drops in all the games i play and i can't seem to figure it out. My system specs are and i7 6700 (non k) CPU, AMD R9 390 GPU, 16gb PNY 2133 MHz, Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 Motherboard, and a EVGA 80 plus bronze 750Watt Power Supply. i would over 100 FPS at ultra settings in Doom 2016 now i get just barely 30, also in deus ex mankind divided i would get an average of 47 FPS at ultra now i can barely hit 10. if somebody could please help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

Have you made any hardware or software changes recently? It's possible a new/updated part/driver isn't playing nice, this includes peripherals like printers, USB sticks and controller pads.

It's a fairly new setup so dust may not yet be a problem but download and run something like HWInfo to check the system temperatures, overheating will cause both the CPU and GPU to throttle and if the heatsink/s is blocked or the fan/s aren't working it will not take long for that to happen.

If the temperatures are OK, grab a free download of Ccleaner and run it to sweep out the temp files and folders, low level malware often hides there and cleaning those folders out is a quick way to see the back of them.

Still a problem? Run virus and malware...

Still a problem? Run virus and malware sweeps, Windows Defender is built in and OK but specialised software can make a better job of it.

I found a temporary fix yesterday so apparently if i unplugged one of my monitors it seemed to fix the issue. i run a 3 monitor setup but i had no problems before and your fix seemed to help alot i downloaded Ccleaner got a 14 day trial and did a thorough scan with the normal scanner registry, apparently i had over 100 missing shared DLLs and ActiveX and class issues on FrameWork and various other stuff, after cleaning out the files and deleting the registry it seemed to fix the problem for now. Thanks Again for your answer it was a big help.
