I recently built a new PC and a day after using it I was using it like normal and suddenly my computer turned off and never came back on, I did the following...• checked for bent pins in CPU , • re installed all components • checked for any extra dm standoff screw • plugged in all connections , tried plugging PSU into wall outlets reset CMOS etc . nothing seems to work... no beeping but what I found was interesting is that my external DVD ROM Drive still works and powers on the moment I flip my PSU on. is it the motherboard? specs

ASRock 970m pro 3 motherboard
AMD FX 8120 CPU
GTX 1050ti 4gb
g skill 4 GB dual channel RAM

Solution
I would recommend trying a power supply tester. It plugs into power supply and then you can manually flip switch on power supply and see if it turns on without having it plugged into motherboard. IF power supply stays on sounds like could be an issue with motherboard and may want to remove all components but basic startup components.

I tried removing components so all I have left is to test the PSU... if it works then it will be upsetting news ironically because that motherboard cost me a good amount of cash... thanks for the suggestion I'll get right on it and let you know anything else
