NVMe/PCI-e SSD has higher R/W speed (1500~2500 MB/s) and cost more. SATA SSD's speed is limited by SATA port so it has only 500~550 read and 450~500 MB/s write speed but it cost less.
NVMe needs M.2 port therefore only recent MoBo can support it. PCI-e SSD uses PCI-e port so does not need new interface. however PCI-e is much more expensive (from intel)
for daily use, SATA SSD is enough, but if you want best performance and your MoBo can support M.2, you'd better go for NVMe.

Thank you for your reply. What is M.2 port? Is it supposed to be on motherboard? My motherboard is "ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Socket AM3+ AMD 970 / SB950", so will this one work? Thanks.

This MoBo has no M.2 port unfortunately. You can only use SATA SSD or SSD for pci-e.

What is SSD for PCI-e? Can you provide an item for example, please? Thank you.
