I'm looking for the 'best of the best' motherboard so consider my budget unlimited in this regard.

I'm upgrading my system to support another GTX 1080 and also want to be able to have an m2 ssd.

Little heads up but sli is useless nowadays the few games that support it are not worth it and most of the time when you have sli on and a game doesn't support it the game ends up performing worse/not launch. I quit my sli 670's because of it just being a hassle and having all kinds of problems. Also for the dx12 argument that a lot of people use: dx12 has not taken of and won't take of for the next little while.

Now for your question:

MSI Z97 Gaming 5 it's pretty good and from my experience when ocing it for a costumer and using it in many builds for costumers it was pretty good and affordable.
