Thoughts on new build

Solution
I got some cheaper 2133mhz ram since a H170 mobo wont run memory at 2400mhz and that g skill kit was ridiculously overpriced. I managed to get a 1060 3gb in there for 3 dollars more than your original build. This should perfom better for gaming, if that's what this build is for.

I could make it cheaper still if you want, an i5 6500 performs about on par with the 6600 I doubt you would ever notice a difference gaming and its about 30 dollars cheaper. You dont really need the cooler the 6600 and 6500 come with one that is adequate but if you are looking for better cooling performance and lower noise stick with the cooler.

Actual price of i5 6500+Gskill Ripjaws V 16GB 2400 ~ 401 AUD @ Newegg (+17AUD from PCPP list, Scorptec sells the Ripjaws V at ~150AUD while Newegg at ~135AUD, totaling ~ 1396 AUD).

ASROCK B150 board instead of ASUS H170 board for better audio, and most importantly ability to overclock non K CPU.

Deepcool GAMMAX 400 instead of CM T4, because the GAMMAX have cooling power comparable to stuff two, three times its price (cryorig 99AUD, be quiet 115 AUD).

And together, this combination will allow your friend to push for the star when he want/need it (on the screenshot is an i5 6600 cooled by a Thermalright TrueSpirit 120i, on the ASROCK H170 Pro4/Hyper with 2x4GB Gskill Ripjaws V 2400).
