Look at all them pretty red tubes ;-)

Good rig ,good price at the end of the day.
I'd echo everything USAFRet said really - they guy spent around £300 just on water cooling & fans !!

The bugbear really is the sli 970's really simply because dual graphics support seems to be disappearing from most new titles now , the fact the 1060 doesn't even support sli is a clear indication of that.
However worst case scenario you'll get single GPU performance & a single heavily overclocked 970 is still primarily decent enough.

Your issue will be ever trying to sell those cards though , without having the know how to remove the custom blocks & refit the original sinks, shroud & fans (which I guess you dont have) no one is really going to want to...
Sure it looks lovely & all & yes its a powerful rig .
But you've spent way too much on aftermarket cooling & the sli 970's make very very little sense when a single 1080 would perform substantially better in 95% of games.
& no you don't have 8gb useable vram , you still only have 4gb.
So yes its a nice setup but you could have spent a lot more wisely IMO - I can only imagine how much that custom cooling totalled out to.

Thanks for the comments so far guy .

I did forget to mentioned this is my first gaming machine that i have purchased. this was already p rebuilt so upgrades if need are on the table.

Why wouldn't you ask for help before buying, we could have built something better for less. Sli is not supported by all games, 2016 was poor for sli support. The 970's don't do well with DX12 and you stuck with 4gb VRAM.

Oh no pal (i'm black not stupid lol ) all the parts in the machine are new like 5 months old but (got a few receipts) machine never been used. i took the seal off it and everything's the guy just brought a 10k machine (dont ask).

so from what i have got sizzling what would be your recommend upgrades to keep it future proof for now?

Just an fyi vram doesnt stack in SLI it mirrors so even though gta may report 8gb only 4gb is usable.

Overall its not a bad system you likely could have done better from a price to performance stand point by making a few changes like 16gb of ram and a single 1070 or 1080 and a smaller PSU.

For any confirmation request like this, there will always be personal nitpicks.

My thoughts:
SSD - too small
Fans - too many
water cooling - too much money on that
RAM - probably too much
PSU - too large
Too much bling

But that's just me.
You got it...use it. Change stuff later.

Just use it and see if you find any limits. The problem with changing the gpu's is you will need new water cooling blocks. What monitor are you going to use?

New gpu's aren't an issue ,use the standard coolers with a new card & just cap the loop.
Overclockers actually sell 1070/1080 cards with Pre fitted ek blocks - expensive though

Thanks for the response madmatt. if the GPU is the only issue then that's minor problem in my eyes as that can be changed in the future. I wouldn't even bother selling the cards as i got them near enough free if that makes sense. Along as everything else is future proof and GPU can be changed to the motherboard i have then all is good.
