Running Wired + Wireless Internet Concurrently??

Our primary desktops at home have both wired and wireless internet access. The wired access is via a very slow DSL (speeds often < .5 Mbps) while the wireless is over very fast (for us) 4G LTE (15 – 20 Mbps). These are no higher speed wired options available where we live.

Right now my wife and I manually switch between the connections (enabling/disabling the respective network adapters) – wireless when we’re working on the PCs (peak time DSL is often unusable for interactive browser activities) and switching back to wired when we’re actively using the computers – this allows OS updates to download and other home network functions – nightly backup, file transfers to my media server, etc.

Is there any way to keep both connections active and somehow direct browser activity to the wireless while keeping the wired connection running?? With wireless set as Metered Connection OS updates and email does not use up our wireless plan data – but it would be nice to allow the wired network functions to continue. Enabling/disabling the adapters is a PITA.

The cost to move our entire home network to 4G LTE is prohibitive – we typically use 50-60 Gb per month (we don’t stream any content either!) and have 25 – 30 devices on the network.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Thank you!! This looks to exactly what I'm wanting to do!
