Mobo integrated graphics not working twice

Hello!

I have an ASRock H170M Pro4 motherboard as part of a new build, paired with a i3-6100 processor. I build this machine a few weeks ago, and whil eit generally worked OK with a discrete graphics card, I could never get the integrated graphics working. I tried many settings, resets, BIOS clears, firmware updates and even resorted to ASRock technical support. Nothing came of any of that - I never saw my monitors ever show any sign of any graphics signal from the mobo.

So I sent it back for a replacement. I just built the new one up - very cautiously - to the minimum state needed to test the onboard graphics: PSU, CPU, cooler and RAM. I plugged my monitor in, booted it up and... nothing. As before, no sign of any integrated graphics on any of the three mobo outputs (HDMI, DVI, VGA). This is true when testing with other monitors too.

I presume that, in general, this motherboard's graphics do work as I'm sure others would have noticed if the integrated graphics were missing in the design, so I assume there is something systematically wrong with my setup. But I cannot think what it could be, other than perhaps a partial failure in the CPU that enables the graphics (which I don't know a way to test for).

Is there something else I could try? Something I may have missed? Might there be a subtle setting or hidden jumper I need to set one way or another? Could something on my other components have failed that might be blocking this?

Thanks!

Hello Samaratin. I have indeed - I've used both a new monitor with HDMI, and another, older monitor with a VGA input. Both monitors/cables work fine when driven from another computer, but neither show anything from the motherboard's graphics outputs.

From my experience with the first board I tried, in BIOS there are a couple options for the graphics output - but I'm not getting that far, so I can't change them here (as I can't display the graphics output). I could go and dig up a discrete graphics card (assuming this is the same problem as the first motherboard had) and change the settings, but the last time I did this no combination of settings enabled the integrated graphics. By default (as this new motherboard should be), the settings should all be set to display using integrated graphics (unless I'm missing something subtle about this particular model!). I'm stumped...
