Can I safely plug a usb hub into my computer which I can then plug in my mouse/keyboard into?

Running out of USB ports in my computer as well as finally getting my cable management together, I want to buy a USB hub that I can hide under my desk which I can then plug my mouse and keyboard into, (Mouse; Final mouse, Keyboard; Razer blackwidow chroma) Hopefully I put this question in the right topic, wasn't quite sure where it went, I appreciate any insight, thanks!

Awesome thank you!!! Also this question may be a little nooby, but should I go for a 2.0 or a 3.0 hub? Or does it depend on my system specs?

Well if you can plug it into a USB 3.0 slot then go for the USB 3.0 :D Better speeds
