Slow Samsung 950 Pro/850 random read/write results

New build Asus X99-A II, i7-6800K, and Win10 Pro 64 installed on a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 and a Samsung 850 EVO for additional storage.

Both produce decent sequential read/write, but very slow random read/write.
950 Pro M.2 random read/write of 157,000/88,000 (should be 300,000/110,000).
850 EVO SATA random read/write of 59,000/61,000 (should be 98,000/90,000).

What am I doing wrong?

That's not abnormal, just because a device is rated to run at a certain speed, there is no guarantee that it will reach that in general use.
It all depends on the workload being transferred, the quality of the data and queue depth.

I produced the above results using Samsung Magician performance testing feature.
Would you recommend a different tool for such test?

Yeah, samsung's tool isn't very good, doesn't push the drives as hard as they could be.
Do a VERY light run through the SSD Endurance test if you want to check your speeds, but they're perfectly fine.
Just make sure to only read/write a small amount of data, about 25GB say, as you don't want your SSD to wear out dramatically faster than normal by transferring say 10TB.
