Upgrade 390s to 480s?

So in 2015 I built my first PC and it has been awesome! All of the specs can be found here https://pcpartpicker.com/b/Dx3Ff7 , but the basics are an FX-8350 OC'd to 4.4GHz and Crossfire R9 390s. As you can undoubtedly imagine I usually cook dinner on the top exhaust vents. I have been considering selling the 390s and buying two XFX GTR RX 480s. My goal is not to get WAY better performance necessarily, but instead to maybe prevent thermal throttling that seems oh so common on the 390s. Frankly, I am just looking for some input from the community. SO, worth my while to upgrade to cooler and maybe faster to 480s?

Thanks,
Dent

I would like to keep it all AMD. I think the real answer here is... Wait for Zen (errr Ryzen or whatever we're calling it now) and then the new Vega GPUs and just build a new AMD machine... you know because apparently I have infinite money.

this option make much more sense. cheaper, faster in majority games (because no scaling to be worried about) and produce a whole lot less heat which is the primary reason OP what to replace his/her 390s despite very aware about no performance improvement going with the 480s. well unless he/she is insistent the gpu upgrade must be AMD gpu.
