My specs are:
I5 6600k (will have OC to 4.0gHz soon)
Hyper 212 EVO
8gb 1333 hyperX
Corsair 760t case
Corsair cx650m PSU
Random wifi card
Asus z170-ar motherboard

I need a gpu that can run games like Unturned, heavily modded shaded minecraft, war thunder, and some other similar games at 2560x1440 at 50-60+ At high/ultra settings. (Medium is good for war thunder)

I have been thinking about the asus rog strix gtx 1060, 1060 g1 gaming, or asus rog strix Radeon rx480.
I would even do a crossfire/Sli setup with a couple of lower-price cards

My price limit is around $300 but I would very much like around $280 if possible. I have Enough room for even the largest cards, I think.

Thank you for reading my long post and not giving up on me immediately

Okay how is a 1060 a "mid-range" gpu? Seriously... how many ghz does your brain have...

Anyways, from what the other peeps on the forum say, crossfire fire and whatever nvidia calls their gpu combo thing is not worth it. You're better off just getting one better and faster graphics card.

Also, I would go for the gtx 1070, it'll be worth it, trust me (actually don't trust me at all I'm literally just a catfish).

1440p high settings ~60 fps you can get away with a 1060 or rx 480, some games you might have to tweak settings

ultra you are going to want a gtx 1070

Every chip handles overclocking differently and that card is already factory overclocked.
1350Mhz is pretty much the high limit for factory overclocked cards, it's possible that you'd be able to get higher than that.
Try, but slowly.

Ok thx. This is my first computer and I am not very prepared to spend $400+ on a gpu (good 1070) . I guess I will go with the asus rog strix 1060 6gb because very reasons (OC, good looks, temps, LED). Just so you know I used to thing the evga 1060 3gb OC was a good card. I have been researching cards like crazy for almost a year but the market is constantly changing.

I do mild YouTube with an elgato on PC and Xbox One.

I used to thing my 930m was the best thing ever

Nvidia gpu combo thingy is SLI

Hehehe

My brain runs at 1873 pHz (peta hertz (1024 gHz per peta))
The human brain requires over 300 Pb of memory running at around 10^14 Hz (I wish I had that RAM)
A computer equal to the brain is expected to be complete in 2023
It would take almost a nuclear reactor to power it, but is funded by the government, and they don't care what it takes to calculate anything extremely fast. Happy New Years science lesson from somebody who doesn't know what they are even talking about!
